Wesley Upperman (1938-?) The Half Boy Upperman was born without legs. After a newspaper article was written about him, local readers started a fund to get him artificial legs. They raised $4000 and Wesley got his legs. It was about that time that he began exhibiting himself with a sideshow. After a while Wesley stopped attending school and local officials threatened to charge his mother for child endangerement. Soon after Wesley gave up the sideshow life, and went back to school.
