Susi (1904-?)
Elephant Skinned Woman Born with ichthyosis, she was forced to apply oil to her skin in order to prevent cracking. She was known for peeling the dry skin off her face, so that it would appear normal. The disease left her unable to produce tears, and was only able to close her eyes with her fingers. The condition also left her unable to sweat, and she was forced to rub ice on her body to avoid over-heating on hot days. Despite all of her problems she is said to have had a had a happy life.
