Colonel Ruth Goshen (1824-1889) Giant There are a lot of falsities about Ruth Goshen (ie: ethnicity, age, etc) It was said that he could move a 1,700 pound cannon, and once crushed the head of a grizzly bear with a rock. But then again which one of us hasn't done that. In reality he began his career in London, and eventually joined with Barnum in the US. His real name was Arthur Crowley. He toured with Admiral Dot, and was known for holding him in the palm of his hand.
